Cesium Releases in December 2023

In November, we announced our new Reality Tiler, Cesium for Unreal 2.0, 3D Tiles in QGIS, and Cesium Grants Japan 2024, and exhibited at I/ITSEC 2023, the world’s largest modeling, simulation, and training event.

CesiumJS 1.112 Release

CesiumJS 1.112 is now available. Highlights of this release include:

  • Fixed terrain lockups in requestTileGeometry by ensuring promise handling aligns with CesiumJS's expectations. #11630
  • Corrected JSDoc and Typescript definitions that marked optional arguments as required in Cesium3dTileset.fromIonAssetId #11623 and IonImageryProvider.fromAssetId. #11624

Cesium for Unreal 2.1.0 Release

Cesium for Unreal v2.1.0 is now available.

Highlights of this release include:

  • Significantly improved tile download performance, particularly for Google Photorealistic 3D Tiles.
  • Added support for styling with property textures in EXT_structural_metadata.
  • Fixed several important bugs.

Cesium for Omniverse 0.14.0 Release

Cesium for Omniverse v0.14.0 is now available. Highlights of this release include:

  • Added support for EXT_structural_metadata. Property values can be accessed in material graph with the cesium_property nodes.
  • Added support for EXT_mesh_features. Feature ID values can be accessed in material graph with the cesium_feature_id_int node.
  • Added support for custom glTF vertex attributes. Attribute values can be accessed in material graph with the data_lookup nodes.
  • Added support for changing a tileset's imagery layer dynamically in material graph.

Cesium ion Updates

The new Reality Tiler for 3D photogrammetry and reality models is part of 3D Tiling Pipelines included in Cesium ion and on-premises products. Get more details in this blog post.
