Matt Elser Joins the Cesium Team as Software Developer in Test

We’re pleased to welcome Matt Elser to the Cesium team. Matt has joined Cesium as a Software Developer in Test on the Cesium for Omniverse squad to help advance and automate the test framework for Omniverse to squash bugs early and build and deploy faster. Matt will also help test ecosystem integrations and ensure robustness. Cesium for Omniverse brings 3D geospatial capability to NVIDIA Omniverse, enabling digital twins built with real-world 3D geospatial data and powered by NVIDIA’s 3D graphics collaboration development platform.

Matt previously worked as a software engineer in the systems department at Pixar and as a lead render wrangler at Dreamworks. His keen interest in working at the intersection of systems engineering and 3D makes him a fantastic addition to our Omniverse team.

Matt recently graduated from the University of Pennsylvania with a master’s degree in Computer & Information Science. While at Penn, he took the GPU Programming course (CIS 565) I taught, and as a team final project Matt made a browser-based crowd simulator using the then-unreleased WebGPU API. He and his wife both grew up in Philly and are happy to be back in the area.

Our team is growing quickly! If you’d like to help us advance 3D geospatial for the open metaverse, check out our careers page
