Brian Langevin Joins the Cesium Team as a Staff 3D Software Developer

We’re happy to welcome Brian Langevin to the Cesium team. Brian will be part of our Native Runtimes team and will work on Cesium’s integrations with Unreal Engine and Unity. We’ve seen tremendous adoption and usage from the industry-leading game engines, and adding Brian to the team is going to enable us to advance our roadmap faster and improve capabilities toward growing the ecosystem.

Brian Langevin hikes in Colorado Springs, Colorado, with his daughter. They are surrounded by pine trees and red rocks.

Brian has worked in computer graphics for over two decades. He studied computer science at the University of North Texas, where he spent his senior level courses creating visualization apps and rendering engines. His favorite book is Real Time Rendering—one of our favorites, too—so we knew he’d be a great fit at Cesium.

Since graduating, Brian’s worked across commercial applications of graphics, from the video game industry to GIS, mobile phones, day trading, DoD simulation, and children's education. Most recently, he was a lead software engineer who grew his team from five to twenty and helped ship software across many platforms to four million students.

Brian has been a musician his whole life, playing piano, violin, and guitar. His most recent infatuation is the mandolin. He also enjoys hand-tool woodworking and scoffs at the idea of tools that are powered by electricity.
