SIGGRAPH is next week! This year’s computer graphics conference is July 28–August 1 in Los Angeles. We love catching the latest graphics techniques at SIGGRAPH every year and bringing back more ideas to enhance Cesium.

We especially love meeting the larger community in real life! This year Omar Shehata and I and will be at SIGGRAPH. Get in touch if you’d like to meet up. Or you can find us at any of these Birds of a Feather sessions:
Monday, July 29, 12pm–1:30pm. ACM SIGGRAPH Theater, Room 309
The Carto BOF focuses on graphics and geospatial, and since Cesium lives at the intersection of 3D computer graphics and geospatial, this is the place to be! Omar will be sharing how Cesium is building an ecosystem to enhance the entire geospatial industry.
Monday, July 29, 3:30–4:30pm. Roosendaal Room 503
Omar will be sharing the new Cesium ion add-on that allows you to easily share 3D models with massive amounts of geometry and textures over the web without losing any detail.
Wednesday, July 31, 10am–11am. Diamond Ballroom 7-10, JW Marriott
As the co-creators of glTF, we wouldn’t miss this BOF. Omar will be speaking about 3D Tiles, which extends glTF for massive models. We’ll be showing off how 3D Tiles + universal texture compression with Basis enables geospatial applications with highly detailed environments.
If you can’t attend, you can still watch the livestream.
Khronos Networking Reception
Wednesday, July 31, 5:30pm. Diamond Ballroom 7-10, JW Marriott
Come check out our latest demos, with a glimpse of how Cesium and 3D Tiles are bringing the latest techniques in computer graphics to 3D geospatial. We’d love to hear about how Cesium is helping your use case, too!
