Create, View, and Share Structure-From-Motion Photogrammetry Models with OpenSfM

OpenSfM, developed by Matthias Adorjan and Michael Wimmer at TU Wien, was developed to be a free and fully accessible structure-from-motion (SfM) system, based on the idea of collaborative projects like OpenStreetMap. SfM is a photogrammetry technique for building 3D structures from 2D images.

With OpenSfM, users were able to explore SfM-datasets stored in a central database; generate new SfM-datasets and share them with other users using the system; extend or improve any existing SfM-dataset available in the system; and download SfM-datasets and use them for further offline processing. The datasets were rendered in the context of an interactive virtual globe built with Cesium.
