James McClain Joins the Cesium Team as a Senior Machine Learning Engineer
We’re very excited to welcome James McClain as our first Senior Machine Learning Engineer at Cesium. James focuses on geospatial machine learning and related topics, applying cutting-edge techniques to enhance analytics and add AI-generated semantic metadata to geospatial content and analytics.
With a background in mathematics and computer science, James holds an MS in Computer Science from the University of Maryland Baltimore County, an MS in Mathematics from the University of Mississippi, and a PhD in Computer Science from Florida State University.
Before joining Cesium, he served as the Machine Learning Lead at Element 84, where he led the development of machine learning-driven solutions for geospatial data analysis and visualization. Prior to that, James worked as a Senior Software Engineer at Azavea, where he contributed to projects in machine learning, geospatial analysis, and open source software.
