Cesium Releases in August 2021
This month we made updates across the Cesium platform, including adding support for Android to Cesium for Unreal and responding to many community requests for improvements to CesiumJS.
CesiumJS 1.84 Release
CesiumJS 1.84 is now available. The release includes numerous community-requested improvements and bug fixes.
Highlights of the release include:
- Added
ImageryLayerCollection.pickImageryLayers
, which allows you to pick individual imagery layers, for example, when needing to select a single imagery layer from a series of overlapping drone collections. - Added a
polylinePositions
getter toCesium3DTileFeature
that gets the decoded positions of a polyline vector feature.

Cesium for Unreal Updates
The newest release of Cesium for Unreal is now available. Cesium for Unreal is now supported on Android. In addition to bug fixes, highlights from the release include:
- Updates cesium-native from v0.5.0 to v0.6.0. See the cesium-native changelog for a complete list of changes in cesium-native.
- Added support for reading per-feature metadata from glTFs with the
EXT_feature_metadata
extension or from 3D Tiles with a B3DM batch table and accessing it from Blueprints.
