Swiss Geospatial Portal's Newest Beta


There’s a new beta of the Swiss Federal Geoportal’s 3D viewer.

swisstopo produces detailed maps of Switzerland and also documents geological, geodesic, and topographical changes in the landscape. Their 3D data viewer built with Cesium uses 3D Tiles to process and visualize their extensive data collection.

A Beta 1.1 version of the 3D data viewer of was made accessible to the public October 25, 2017. Besides an update of the buildings (swissBuildings3D 2.0) the new content includes a selection of geographic names (swissNAMES3D 2.0) and vegetation (swissTLM3D woods and single trees). Thus, more than 80 million single objects can now be displayed by the 3D data viewer of .
