Trent Tinker
(He/Him)Business Development
Trent grows Cesium’s business by showing customers how Cesium’s commercial offerings can meet their geospatial needs.
Trent has a passion for helping others and a unique blend of technical and business expertise focused on geospatial software development. Trent majored in Computer Science and was introduced to the geospatial world as an undergraduate at the College of Charleston. He immediately saw the benefits of connecting Computer Science and GIS and has spent the past two decades in the geospatial domain.
Trent has spent most of his career working for geospatial product companies including Esri, Luciad, Hexagon US Federal, and now Cesium. His focus throughout his career has primarily been in the Defense and Aviation domains, helping government agencies and large system integrators build 2D/3D/4D geospatial solutions.
Prior to joining Cesium, Trent worked for the Open Geospatial Consortium (OGC) supporting their nonprofit mission to ensure location information is Findable, Accessible, Interoperable, and Reusable (FAIR). 3D Tiles is an OGC Community Standard developed by the Cesium team, which advocates for open standards to advance the community.
On a personal level, Trent lives in Charleston, SC, and loves spending time at the beach with his family of five. He is also a mental health advocate and co-founded a mental health startup in 2020 that provides free anonymous peer to peer (1:1) support by connecting people in a critical time of need with other people who have been there too. Their app, WhiteFlag, has over 100,000 downloads.
