Mark Dane Brings User Experience Expertise to the Cesium Team

I’m excited to announce Mark Dane has joined our team. As our resident user experience expert, Mark will up our game with user experience development across the board by designing workflows and building interfaces in Cesium ion and our custom applications.

As we build out the Cesium platform, we aim to empower developers and non-developers alike to access Cesium’s many features. Mark will serve a key role in reexamining our current products as well as building new interfaces to make sure our users’ experience is simple and accessible.

Mark has a lot of experience with UX, including with mobile. He’s designed an Android app, and he holds a US patent that resulted from his mobile experience work at Bentley Systems. His designs are clean and striking - and provide a clear path for users to navigate.

Mark earned a Masters in Computer Science from Drexel University, and a UX Certification from the Nielsen Norman Group. Before he joined us, Mark worked as a software engineer and did UI work for a number of companies, including Bentley and Comcast. His experience in building user profiles and aligning design with an organization’s goals will be hugely helpful to us. We’re thrilled he’s now part of our team.
