As a staff cloud engineer, Brian supports the efficiency and security of Cesium ion, the platform for hosting, tiling, and streaming 3D geospatial data as 3D Tiles. Cesium ion handles over 50 million requests a day and growing. The Cesium ion 3D tiling pipelines process terabytes of data on Amazon Web Services (AWS), and Brian’s work on that infrastructure improves global streaming performance.
Brian has more than 20 years of experience with cloud services and IT, including 2 years spent working at Microsoft Azure and 9 at AWS. While at Amazon, Brian supported major organizations in optimizing their cloud architectures. Brian’s an SME in S3 and CloudFront.
When he’s not at work, Brian’s enjoying all things outdoors in the Pacific Northwest—whether that’s mountain biking, skiing, backpacking, or mountaineering. He’s summited Mount Rainier four times and skied from the top of Mount St. Helens and Mount Baker. He’s joined on many of his adventures with his equally active wife and two daughters.
