Communications & Marketing Manager

Drive our communications to build our brand and fuel our growth.

We are looking for someone to drive our marketing and communications efforts—creating content that shows what you can do with our 3D geospatial platform, devising strategies to build and extend our brand, and overall fueling our growth.

Cesium is in a unique position in that our technology has been in use for years, we have an existing community of free and paying users, and we have a well regarded brand in related developer commmunities. We recently spun out from our parent company and took on investment—and now want to rapidly grow adoption and break into new industries.

You’ll help us achieve this, taking over our digital communications, writing original content and campaigns, and dreaming up the vision for how to take us to the next level. In this role you’ll contribute to all areas of communications strategy and execution. You’ll work closely with our editor, business team, and product engineers—and will report to our COO.

What you’ll do

  • Create compelling content showing what you can do with Cesium and 3D geospatial data across industries, audiences, and channels. You’ll tell the story behind our product and help position Cesium as a thought leader in the geospatial and graphics communities.

  • Build data driven processes for all our communications. You’ll drive this effort for all our communications by establishing metrics for the quality of content, audience growth, engagement, and content reach.

  • Write and edit website copy, blog posts, case studies, sales collateral, conference brochures, and anything you can dream up.

  • Curate our monthly newsletter content.

  • Manage our social media. We’re currently active on Twitter and LinkedIn, and interested in Instagram and other channels that make sense.

  • Design our event strategy - from which conferences to target to determining our presence at each to occassionally organizing our own events.

  • Help us create editorial systems that ensure high quality content, solid metrics, and efficiency.

What we’re looking for:

  • 3+ years of experience in product marketing for B2B, SaaS, or in the geospatial field. Background in journalism or writing is a plus.

  • Fantastic written and oral communications skills, and the desire to create content.

  • Interest in and background in technology, and the ability to learn a highly technical product inside and out, and educate both technical and non-technical audiences on it.

  • Love to interact with users, customers, and partners and amplify their stories.

  • Solid knowledge of social media, online communication strategy, and online publishing tools.

  • A love of experimentation and iteration. You like to try new things and learn from them.

  • Design and/or photography skills a bonus. Same for SEO experience.

Cesium is a platform for 3D geospatial data - we enable developers and data providers to build dynamic 3D geospatial applications more easily. 3D data is being collected all around us, nearly all the time. With Cesium, we’re making this 3D data more usable so we can better understand our world. We’ve been building Cesium for 8+ years and it’s production tested with companies like Toyota and Red Bull, government agencies like the NGA, and high traffic events like NORAD’s annual Santa Tracker. We are expanding into new industries as fast as we can and have a growing number of users on our SaaS platform Cesium ion. You’ll help us build this user base.

This position is based out our Philadelphia office.
